Principal’s Letter to Parents and the UICS Community
UICS Website 2015-2016 School Year

Dear Universal Institute Charter School Family,

It was an honor to have been selected in September to serve as the principal for Universal Institute Charter School. I bring to this great institution 20 plus years of experience in various instructional, administrative and leadership positions for educational institutions throughout the Philadelphia region. I started my career as a math and science teacher for grades 7-8, at the John Story Jenks School in Philadelphia upon graduating from Temple University in 1993. I earned a master’s degree in Community and Clinical counseling from Eastern University in 2003 and a certificate in Educational Administration from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania in 2006.

As an educator, I strongly believe and truly understand a student’s academic and personal success relies on the cohesion between students, teachers and parents. My leadership approach is to build a collaborative environment in which all of the school’s stakeholders align as partners in the education of its students. I will regularly confer with staff, students, parents and families and members of the community and civic organizations to foster cooperative partnerships in support of Universal Institute Charter School, public education and the community.

It is my passion and undying commitment to provide the best possible educational experience for each and every scholar that enters the doors of Universal Institute Charter School. My instructional vision is to equip teachers so that they can equip our scholars.

I am proud to join Universal Companies because of its unwavering history, which has been rooted in the hard work, time commitment and contributions to the entire community. I am looking forward to the partnerships that I will have with each of you so that we can together make this beloved school achieve all that we have yet to become.

Sincerely,

Mr. Jeffrey Williams, Principal
