Universal Institute Charter School competed and won the boys division of the Metropolitan Philadelphia Athletic Association cross country championship on Oct. 27. It was the first time Universal Institute competed in the league.

The boys’ team was led by Kamran Bryant (2nd place), Kaeir Johnson (5th), Nasir Brown (6th) and Douga Dabo (8th). On the girls side, Universal Institute had a pair of top-10 finishes with Sadiya Gibson (4th place) and Ma’isah Gilliard-Williams (8th).
