Universal Creighton Charter takes part in Walmart grand reopening

Northeast Times August 17, 2025

Walmart hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to highlight the grand reopening of the store at 4600 Roosevelt Blvd. The store, which opened in 2003, underwent a series of upgrades. A number of employees were honored for their service, and the store offered slices of cake to commemorate the occasion.

During the Aug. 8 event, Walmart store manager Dwayne Hamilton presented grants to Universal Creighton Charter School, Northeast Frankford Boys & Girls Club and Gen. Philip Kearny Elementary School.

City Councilman Anthony Phillips was in attendance. Creighton STEAM teacher Alexander Levicoff sang the Star-Spangled Banner, while the school drum line performed. Walmart presented drum line members with school supplies.

Coca-Cola handed out soda, Powerade and BodyArmor, while Pepsi distributed snacks and drinks. ••
